An important part of the project is the site visits conducted by a team from EAIS. During these site visits, GPS points are taken along the borders of the sites and record sheets are filled out detailing threats and the current condition of any archaeological remains. A large number of photographs are taken by the EAIS photographer, creating a database with recent pictures of archaeological sites and historical buildings. The often shocking condition of a large number of these heritage sites highlights the problems of proper site management in Egypt, and is not limited to smaller, less well-known sites.
